Posca
Water-based opaque paint markers for almost any surface.
About Posca
Posca markers are made by Uni Mitsubishi Pencil in Japan. The formula is water-based pigment ink - not dye, not solvent - which gives the markers their signature opacity and matte finish on paper, canvas, glass, timber, metal, fabric and stone. Once dry, the ink is water-resistant and lightfast enough for permanent applications.
The PC-5M (medium, 1.8 to 2.5mm bullet tip) is the marker most people mean when they say "a Posca". It is the standard for lettering artists, model-makers, shop signage, and anyone who needs a mark that stays put. The range extends from the PC-1MR (0.7mm extra-fine) to the PC-17K (15mm broad chisel tip), covering everything from detailed illustration to large-format display work.
Posca's water base makes it the practical choice for shared spaces and with children - easy cleanup while wet, permanent once dry. The pigment system means colours are consistent and the white is genuinely opaque, not cream. It is the marker that has made "opaque paint marker" a category of its own.
